The Hackensack Art Club was founded in 1939 to promote an interest in the fine and applied arts in Hackensack and the surrounding communities.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at the United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Passaic Street and Summit Avenue. Each meeting encompasses fellowship, refreshments, a mini-show, and an art demonstration or critique by well known artists and teachers.

Opportunities are offered to members to exhibit their works to the public:

  1. The monthly mini-show.
  2. The annual Johnson Public Library Show in November.
  3. The annual Spring Juried Show in April for members, with prizes and awards.
  4. As well as the weekly studio workshop, which meets every Tuesday.

The Hackensack Art Club is a tax exempt, non-profit organization. The fiscal year runs from September to August. Membership dues is $40 per year.
