Reporting animal bites that have occurred in Hackensack
Because warm blooded animals, such as cats, dogs, bats, raccoons, skunks and other wildlife, can carry and transmit rabies, animal bites should always be reported to the Health Department.
For bites that occurred in Hackensack, if you are making a report Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm call a Health Department inspector at 201 646-3961, 3962, 3968 or 0201 457-2362.
If you are making a report after normal business hours or on a weekend, call the police department at 201 646-7770.
